Our aim is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment within which to enjoy our handpicked classic film selections. It’s a wonderful opportunity to catch iconic films up on the big screen as they were meant to be seen.
Key features include: more lighting, no adverts and a 15 minute interval. Moving around and noise are also acceptable and the doors open half an hour before for socialising and acclimatising.
Tickets are priced at £7.50, carer tickets are free and the ticket price includes a free hot drink and biscuits!
Our next classic choice is Hello Dolly! The 1969 feature directed by Gene Kelly and starring Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau and Michael Crawford. Nominated for several Golden Globes and BAFTAs, it went on to win three Oscars in 1970.
Matchmaker Dolly Levi travels to Yonkers to find a partner for “half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder, convincing his niece, his niece’s intended, and his two clerks to travel to New York City along the way.
For our Timeless Tuesday sessions we’re also teaming up with ‘Herts Musical Memories’, a local charity that delivers singing sessions for people living with dementia and their carers. Before each film they’ll be leading us in song for a fun vocal warm-up. Starting 15 minutes before each film.
