This Autumn, South Mill Arts is launching a series of acting workshops, delivered by experienced professionals to help nurture and develop theatre skills, aimed at 16 – 100-year-olds.
Offering opportunities for young adults and adults to collaborate, the lessons will provide a network for local creatives and a forum to meet new people. The sessions will focus on existing skills whilst engaging in new aspects of theatre which could act as a stepping stone for future studies or career development.
Centering around acting, drama, script writing, comedy, film, technical, production, and visual arts, the workshops are led by professionals such as Giddy Aunt Comedy, Act 3 Theatre Company, theatre-maker, facilitator and producer, Ella McGran and Emily Suzanne Lloyd who is the resident director at The Old Joint Stock Theatre.
Artistic Programmer for South Mill Arts Emma Filby said ‘We are very excited about partnering with theatre practitioners in our local community. Centre Stage workshops allow young adults and adult learners to refine and develop their theatre skills in workshops developed by experienced professionals. These workshops will harvest a sense of community aspiration, whilst supporting both experienced and new theatre hobbyist.’
