Yesterday we gave a virtual talk to the West Essex Archaeology Group (WEAG) on the excavations carried out on the Romano-British pottery and tile kilns at Bromley Hall Farm, Nr Much Hadham, Herts in the mid-late 1960s. The talk was based on the original (and still unpublished) excavation archive created by director of excavations Bernard Barr and featured many pictures of the original excavations, including this picture of a tile kiln excavated on the site in 1969. WEAG has had a long association with Bishop’s Stortford Museum through our first Curator, Wally Wright who sadly passed away recently.
