The Bishop’s Stortford Museum welcome their new Heritage and Museum Manager

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is delighted to announce its new Heritage and Museum Manager.

From the beginning of May, Alex Andrijevic has taken on the role of Museum and Heritage Manager after being a valued member of staff at the Museum for the past 20 years.

Alex first joined as a Museum Assistant in 2005, soon after rising to Deputy Curator. Until now, she has been working as the Keeper of Museum Collections.

‘These past years I’ve spent at South Mill Arts have provided me with an understanding of what an important role our Museum and Theatre play for our community and I am more than ready to move on to the next stage, bringing a new lease of life into to our local Museum!’ Alex Andrijevic, Museum and Heritage Manager, South Mill Arts.

The Museum, which is located in South Mill Arts on South Road, was established in 1938 (then known as the Rhodes Memorial Museum) and re-opened, merging with the Bishop’s Stortford Local History Museum after redevelopment in 2005.

The Museum Team, supported by the board of Trustees, has exciting plans for the future of the Museum and this new appointment is the first in many opportunities to take our local Museum from strength to strength.

“With over two decades of experience, I am delighted to appoint Alex to this role.  She has an incredible knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the local history of the town and the Museum. The team at South Mill Arts are looking forward to supporting Alex in her new role.”  Paula Holland, Operations Director, South Mill Arts.
