Young Curators

Our Young Curators Programme introduces local students to the world of museums.  Over the induction weeks the groups gain practical experience in accessioning, recording and storing artefacts.  They discuss the role of museums and curators, and what forms a historical item can take.  They also explore how to exhibit and share objects and their stories in an engaging way.  Going forward many volunteer with us and discover more through trips and workshops.

You can see the objects they chose to exhibit plus some contemporary items they have added to our collection, in our Community Outreach Gallery on the first floor of the museum.
