With several different artists and exhibitions on rotation throughout the year, we display a variety of work and mediums so there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Current Exhibition

Alan Fletcher & Nadia Thompson

Alan Fletcher is a Bishop’s Stortford based bespoke woodworker creating pieces for a diverse range of clients across the U.K. In recent years he has been able to dedicate more time to his art, creating abstract paintings and sculptures that express his love of geometry, pattern and repetition.

Alan has exhibited his eye catching and unique art across the region and online. Working in mixed media and acrylic paint he employs a range of techniques and bold colour combinations, often using metallic and iridescent colours which he feels are overlooked but can catch the light beautifully and make a painting pop, resulting in striking pieces that engage the viewer.

Whilst Alan’s work often explores themes of internal conflict and restrained emotions his free-flowing fish sculptures are a play on recurring dreams from childhood.

Nadia Thompson:

A Study of She is a series of small, framed 20 × 20 cm mixed-media portraits. Layering acrylic, ink, graphite, pastel and watercolour, each face is deliberately “in flux”; bejewelled, tender, defiant, sometimes strange — as a playful, gently political response to how ideals of feminine beauty shift, tighten, and break. Created by Nadia Thompson — an artist, writer and curator whose practice celebrates feminism and body positivity — these are not portraits of perfection, but portraits of becoming: vibrant, imperfect, and unapologetically individual. Each work is unique, fun, inviting viewers to meet the person within and hopefully to leave energised, inspired, and a little freer in their own skin.
