The Water Lane Theatre Company has been a part of the South Mill Arts’ calendar, Rhodes as it was known then, on and off since the 1970s but more particularly annually in the last seven years. In that time the SMA has not only provided a perfect venue for our company: up to date computer driven sound and lighting; a perfect stage, dressing rooms and backstage facilities; and all that is needed for a successful front of house, but more importantly the helpfulness, friendliness and efficiency of every member of staff create the character and personality that make SMA very special. When Water lane returns each year to the South Mill we feel not under contract, we feel part of a team, part of a family together giving great theatre to Bishop’s Stortford.
