Key Stage Three Students at St Mary’s Catholic School have worked on the themes of Landscape, Still Life and Mexican Day of the Dead over the course of their 3-year Art journey.
Students focus on developing skills in drawing, composition, colour, texture, and form and use a range of observation techniques to develop ideas and compositions.
Final pieces are created after a period of development in sketchbooks, and we have displayed a range of final outcomes at South Mill Arts.
Students who continue at Key Stage 4 (GCSE) have started with the theme ‘Flora and Fauna’ and follow a more personal journey. Work is developed in sketchbooks before being taken into larger, more realized final pieces, exampled of which you can see in the glass cabinets.
Students at all Key Stages work with clay and some examples of work created on the potters’ wheel made by Key Stage 5 students are on display in the glass cabinets.
We hope you enjoy this selection of our students’ work!
