Dickens Theatre Company’s acclaimed stage
adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s gothic thriller comes to South Mill Arts in April
2027.
London, 1888. A thick Fitzrovia fog
cloaks the city. In the shadows, a sinister figure stalks the streets. A young
child is brutally attacked. Who is this “sneering Satan” and will he strike
again?
Performed by an ensemble cast of just six
actors, this fast-paced production brings Stevenson’s dark and dangerous
Victorian world vividly to life through inventive storytelling, atmospheric
staging and dynamic multi-roling performance.
Part of DTC’s highly acclaimed Revision
on Tour programme (alongside Macbeth and A Christmas Carol), this
accessible adaptation is specifically designed to support GCSE English study
while remaining entertaining for all audiences.
All matinee performances also include the
option to stay for a free 20-minute post-show Q&A with the cast and
director, a hugely popular addition for school groups, giving students the
chance to ask questions, deepen their understanding of the novella and explore
the production further.
