This November, Egli Petta is presenting ‘The essence of vision’.
Egli Petta studied BA (Hons) Fine Art and MFA in Painting/Drawing but also she did further studies in Museum and Art Galleries in United Kingdom. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (EETE) and member at the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
Egli is a contemporary artist. Her diverse artistic practice has garnered international recognition, with exhibitions spanning from Athens, Glasgow, London, Sao Paulo. Her painting is a prime example of abstractionism with masterful use of colour and curiosity about time, space as historical references.
Louis Loveless: ‘The main part of my practice consists of composing paintings using collages and diagrams, combining different types of mark-making and texture to create networks that connect iconography from various contexts. I work with imagery inspired by my research into the Gothic, cutting-edge technology, folklore, and religion. A thread that runs through my work is a curiosity with dread, most notably numinous dread: a concept about fear’s role in religious experience. At the core of my practice is a search for hidden meaning and a sense of the mystical.’
Come and visit the ArtSpace on the first floor! Head upstairs to the balcony to see the latest exhibition.
