Acoustic Guitar from Rhodes Centre Opening Celebrations 2005
On 12th November 2005 the newly refurbished Rhodes Centre celebrated its re-opening with a ball. It was billed as ‘Bishop’s Stortford’s Social Event of the Year!’ and as well as a three course meal there was an auction and casino. Several bands played that night and 9 of the musicians signed this guitar, including:
Alan Lovell, Phil Thompson and Ray Ennis of the Swinging Blue Jeans, Clem Cattini of The Tornados, and Chip Hawkes from the Tremeloes.
Our museum volunteer, Chris, chose this as her object as she loves music and enjoyed Telstar by The Tornados.
Were you there? We’d love to record your memories of the evening for our oral history archive. Contact us at museum@southmillarts.co.uk if you would like to share your memories.
The guitar and other objects of the month can be seen on the first floor of the museum at South Mill Arts.
