Carole Crosby was born in 1946 and can’t remember a time when she didn’t paint or draw; her older sister spent a lot of time drawing, so at around the age of four, Carole spent time copying the way her sister drew, attempting to draw figures like those of Mabel Lucie Attwell and the Fairy baby which was shown on Fairy Soap at that time.
Carole was born and brought up in Stansted and went to Cambridge Art School at age 16, she worked as an artist at a printing company before getting married. When her children were born, she still painted, but she wanted to pay for those extras, so she worked in various local companies doing clerical and telephonic work.
When Carole’s last child went off to university in 2011, she threw herself back into painting and has accumulated quite a lot of work over the years, some of which is shown in this exhibition. If you would like to purchase a painting, just text or call Carole on 07933 786096.
